While I was filming one of the small documentaries for Canon, I spent half of my day backstage at House of Holland interviewing Henry, Clive Booth and having a preview of how his new look book what being shot. Once we got all of that finished and the show was about to begin, I got myself in what I thought was one of the best spots. I managed to snap the models as they were coming off the runway, some where dancing and some seemed relieved but I love getting all of their true reactions straight after walking the show.

Getting slightly obsessed with rings lately, in fact, I think I've worn a ring on each finger for a few months now. I am always searching for new statement rings and it literally made my day when this beautiful heart shaped ring with 24 small diamonds showed up at my door courtesy of the beautiful Sofie Valkiers. This small ring is a part of her collection for Diamanti Per Tutti and in my opinion, a perfect statement piece.

Milano’s Duomo would have to be my favourite building in Europe. No matter how many times I revisit I still gasp at its gothic beauty, and then remember the facade is only the beginning. Unfortunately I didn’t have time to visit the rooftop this time, but wandering between the spires is what I picture when reminiscing over Europe.
I wore this red on red to my first show of MFW, Gucci. And yes, despite several layers of thermals under my jacket I was absolutely freezing. I’m always a fan of contrast with the structured origami fold and high stiff neckline of the jacket over dainty rosebud lace.

Looking back at these photos from Milan makes me so excited to head south to warmth next week. I wore this to the Emporio Armani show at MFW, in my final FW attempt of layering everything together in hopes of a warm yet unseen outfit. It wasn’t too freezing that day, but when the snow turns to rain and slosh it somehow finds its way in to my bones (also transforming me in to a drowned rat, as seen above).
I can’t wait to wear this skirt without several pairs of stockings underneath, and accentuate the shiney kick out flare. Only a few more days until I return to the sunshine!

While I was in New York I visited my friend Patricia Chang’s apartment to see her new collection, but couldn’t go past this skirt from two collections ago. I was immediately transfixed on its white leathery texture, sharply cut and rounded peplum with hidden rainbow embellished jewels, even though the skirt was old news to Patricia. I wore this to Burberry & Christopher Kane during London FW’s Monday shows and laughed every time someone attempted to take a photo of the peeking embellishment… aiming their camera up my skirt!

FLASHING

FLASHING

I have to admit, I do not often ‘spoil’ myself beauty wise. I have literally had one professional massage in my entire life, one manicure, never went to get a pedicure and only got a facial once. Oh, and forgive me for trying that fishy thing for your feet once (I was just too curious not to try, though I can not handle thinking about it now).
A little while back my friend Anna got lash extensions (even though she has some serious natural lashes going on already) and the idea of waking up like you just had your make-up done – just the eye part, but still – and not having to put on mascara any longer, as well as rubbing it off before going to sleep at night really convinced me of trying it out myself.
And so I went to Beauty by Lisa in The Hague last Tuesday, a salon that is specialized in these mink lashes called Blink. There are different lengths and different curls and since I am not really good at making decisions with these kind of things, Lisa helped me pick what would suit me best.
It takes about two hours with your eyes closed to attach a longer lash to each and every natural lash, I had about 120-140 of my own, so that is a whole lot of lashes to attach. Since your own lashes fall out every eight weeks and these are attached to your own, it lasts for about two months. However, Lisa advices to get a refill every three to four weeks.
It took me three mornings to get used to waking up to them and if I am completely honest I think I will go for a tiny bit shorter version next time – to make the difference between my own lashes and the Blink ones a tiny bit smaller – but being able to stay in bed for an extra 10 minutes in the morning is definitely something I could get used to.

It has occurred to me this week that I know a lot of teachers. Every third post on Facebook is from a teacher I know. And this might be the one week that I am jealous of their profession -- spring break. Does this make me want to have the responsibility of teaching the future generation on my hands? No, no. I shall stick with dressing grown women and let those kind-hearted stick to teaching. But I do like the sound of a week off. I vote spring break for everyone, next year. It only seems fair.

You would never know I had my computer with me, would you? I'm fancy like that. Concealed but fancy. I've been toting my poor computer around in whatever random bag I had available so I finally feel like an official business woman. Yes, it took a laptop bag to make me feel official, not the fact that I own a store. It's the little things, you know?

PS: Remember the jeans I wore on Friday? I styled them in part with Big Star Jeans for a chance to win tickets to Coachella. It's kind of a long shot but if you have a chance today or this week, would you mind voting for me? Because seeing me dressed as a hipster for a weekend is reason enough.
