I wish this skirt photographed as pink as it really is. Obnoxious pink is what it really is and I love it. Can we talk about me and pink lately? I believe half of my closet is now pink. I wore my pink blazer and a pink button down (it was cute, trust me) to get my nails done the other day and just naturally I picked pink for my nails. There I was sitting there waiting patiently in my pink uniform, with my polka dot pink phone cover and my pink nail polish and I as I looked down I thought "my gosh -- I'm that girl." That girl meaning Lisa Frank. But grown up so I don't need a unicorn to ride on anymore because I'm old enough to just drive my pink car. You better believe it has rainbows on it.  Of course camo is probably opposite of Lisa Frank so at least I can keep some of my dignity right?

I think I've said this before (but I'm too lazy to go back and reference myself so I'll just repeat it) but I go through phases with clothing. Some years I only like pants or I only like skirts. Other years I'm not interested in dresses at all and then the next I can't get enough. I am indecisive at best, flaky at worst. But there has just been something about dresses for me this spring. I suppose I've been into feeling like a lady lately. Well as much as I can feel like a lady in a dress that's short. Downside to being tall, everything is short. Upside: standing room concerts aren't a problem and reaching things on high shelves is a plus.
Side note: it probably means I need a tan when my nude shoes are the exact same color as my skin, right? I mean sure they are supposed to be nude but flesh colored? That might be a little too close to my skin tone.

I remember when neon's came on the scene last spring that I was iffy. I liked the idea of them I just didn't quite know how to work with them yet. Sometimes it takes me a season to make sense of trends. Which is why I'm glad it's still around this season -- mainly for the sake of this clutch I found at Target. This might be the best fake leather I've ever seen. Mad props to whatever scientist figured that one out. 
I waited this blazer out at J.Crew. Meaning I stalked this blazer until it went on sale. I was in love with it the minute I saw it (I mean, flowers in a blazer. Was this made for me or what?) but it was just out of my price range. As soon as it went on mark-down, I waited a week and then it went on sale even more. Patience is a virtue, my friends. Especially when it brings you floral blazers.

Afternoon at the Park:Quilted coat & Givenchy wedge boots

Before driving back home, MM and I went for a walk at Golden Gate Park.  The weather cooled down a bit, so we traded our light summer pieces for coats and boots.  Our walk through the park was also a stroll down memory lane.  We had date nights at the Academy of Science, marveled at the different kinds of plants at the Botanical Garden, and I crossed the finish line after running a half marathon for the National AIDS Marathon at the lawn area.  Beautiful memories shared and treasured there!

As we strolled through the Music Concourse area, my coat and boots were perfect companions to keep me warm.  From the quilted panels and sleeves on the coat to the shark tooth hardware and leather covered wedges on the boots, I greatly appreciate the details that make them both very special.
